Last year, on my birthday, as a copatron of Kariandusi Prehistoric Site, I held a fundraiser through mChanga for its restoration.

I requested my friends to send any amount to Friends of Kariandusi

We raised close to Kes 400,000 from individual giving. Some time this year, the funds were transferred to National Museums of Kenya for rebuilding of this staircase into the gorge. It had been closed off to the public due to safety issues. Today, I get these pictures sent on the progress. I shed a tear. Soon, our visitors, including thousands of school children, will be able to safely access the excavation spots of the stone tools of Homo Erectus.

We still have a long way to go in taking the venue to the next level in terms of preservation of our rich history. The Mchanga account is still active and we appreciate any donation to the cause. Our upcoming FOOD FOR THOUGHT FESTIVAL will also have proceeds directed to Kariandusi Prehistoric Site.
