Runway Delight
We have all seen Spring 2010’s finest collections, unfortunately most of us haven’t been able to get our hands on them yet. As fashion connoisseurs we are all just as eager to discover the next season’s best, and thanks to numerous designers we are able to take a peek. Various designers are starting to expose their Pre-Fall 2010 collections to the public, Alexander Wang, Burberry Prorsum, Chanel, Zac Posen, Margiela, and a few others have released their collections via runway and intimate presentations. All of them with their own unique metamorphosis, Pre-Fall 2010 has become a season of its own.
Alexander Wang’s collection aged with a more grown-up appeal. Mostly black, fierce tailored jackets, and a re-vamping existing trends, Alexander Wang’s collection is classicism meets edgy-cool girl.
Burberry Prorsum’s Christopher Bailey drew heavily from Burberry’s military roots for this Pre-Fall Collection. World War II- esque wool-felt coats, chunky belts, aviator jackets, and even satin bows on knit for women, this collection is refined and on the verge of quixotic.
Chanel’s Pre-Fall collection extravaganza in Shanghai wowed the audience with its lavish oriental embellishments tied into Chanel tweeds and traditional Lagerfeld lines. This fantasy inspired collection is decadent in hue, design, and its far east appeal.
Zac Posen describes his Pre-Fall collection as “Lewis Carrol meets Paloma Picasso”. Quirky prints, girly shapes, flirty color, and an overall Alice in Wonderland persona this collection is playfully different. This fashion escapism is effervescent in in Posen’s newest collection.
Narciso Rodriguez continues the ever-popular androgynous look with mens-wear inspired looks. He says, ” Early fall is about menswear, and the boys’ club.” This collection with the occasional splash of color is simply simple, with acute attention to detail.
With new Pre-Fall delights making their way to the limelight, we have an exciting year to look forward to in fashion.
