A Memorable Autumn for Vogue…
With a fantastic box-office documentary, The September Issue, gracing fans and a glorious celebration of 90 years of French Vogue, this season couldn’t be more monumental for the magazine. The film, The September Issue, takes fashionistas into a completely different world, and gives us a vivid portrayal of what every Vogue fan really wants to know. The september issue of the magazine is by far the most important and memorable, usually being refered to as the “new years” of fashion. The motion pictures documents the release of Vogue’s 2007 September Issue, which as the infamous Anna Wintour explains, ” weighed over 4 lbs, reaching an audience of thirteen million people, and impacting the $300-billion global fashion industry more than any other single publication”. This film is a must for fashion lovers, and will give you a glimpse into this glamourous yet cut-throat world.
To put this film into a stronger context: ” FASHION IS A RELIGION, AND THIS IS THE BIBLE.”
90 Years of French Vogue:
Another landmark for Vogue is the celebration of French Vogue’s 90 year feat. To pay tribute, an exposition is being displayed on the Champs-Elysees in Paris and magazine covers from 1920-2009 are decking the main boulevard for the whole month of October. These magazine covers are works from famous photographers and artists such as Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton, Demarchelier, and so many more. The most memorable and beautiful covers were chosen, and fantastically represent Vogue and it’s legendary appeal.
